the staff were really friendly and helpful, just what i needed.
I found the room quite tired. It needed some updating, i think. the location at the front of the building next to a busy, noisy road was not ideal. i had to keep the window partly open, but that just let more noise in.

the hotel features free parking in the pub car park. this is a big saving. i found the location great for a walk to the city walls, visible from the pub. the cooked breakfast was really good.
my room was on the front of the building facing a busy main road, traffic noise was present early in the morning
